Why You Should Build A Mailing List

Unlike grocery lists or spare parts lists, in the
marketing sense of the term, a ‘list’ refers to a
list of customers. More specifically, in regards to
internet marketing, it refers to a list of emails
through which potential customers can be contacted.

If you’ve ever faced a situation where you needed to
enter your details (especially your email) before you
download something, then chances are that you are, or
have been, part of a someone else’s list.

Even large companies that are already very established
use email lists of their own to keep track of their
customers, and alert them to new developments, offers,
and so forth. Of course, this ties in to yet another
question at hand…

Why Build and Use a List?

Commonly, not having a list is said to be ‘leaving
money on the table’, and that much is certainly true.

Take the example of a conventional clothes store.
Customers come, browse around, maybe buy something,
and then leave. Once they’ve left, the store has no
way of getting in touch with them, and maybe
convincing them to come back again.

On the other hand, if the store had their contact
details, they could notify them when they have a new
stock of clothes on the rack, or special discounts,
and so on. By doing so, the customer would then feel
compelled to perhaps come back, or at very least would
consider doing so.

Similarly, in whatever niche that you’re into, if you
had a list of previous customers then whenever you
have a new product, or some other offer, you’d just
be able to shoot out emails and see if anyone is
interested. Simple as it sounds, this is amazingly
effective.

Think about it in terms of figures, if that helps.
Let’s say you have an 8,000 strong list, and you
send out an email regarding your latest product that
costs $20. Even if only 10% of your list buys your
product, that is 800 instant customers and you would
have made $16,000.

To sum it up, the reason to build and use a list is to
establish a firm base of regular customers to which
you can market your products and offers too with great
ease.

Build your own niche list with a powerful
squeeze page and one-time offer system here;

Dedicated To Your Success,

Not to mention but it’s Recommended by Scouting Magazine, the Super Tool 300 includes multiple types of the most commonly used tools. With two sets of extra-strong pliers (needle-nose and regular), two knives (clip-point straight edge and sheepfoot serrated), three sets of wire cutters (removable standard cutters, removable hard-wire cutters, and stranded cutters), and four screwdrivers tips, and a Philips, this multitool has more than enough capacity to handle a range of common applications.

The Super Tool 300 also comes with a wire stripper, electrical crimper, wood/metal file, saw, bottle opener, can opener, ruler, and awl with thread loop. What do you think?

OK, everyone wants to know what happened between this group starting and the old group closing. All I can tell you is how this group began, anything to do with Shirley or the old group closing was her choice.

Everything started on September 18, I had pasted a link on the Tobri members group wall to something that people were asking questions about. These were genuine questions from people who are losing their homes and trying to feed their families. The link was not an affiliate link it was a direct link to direct questions. Shirley deleted the link and the conversation of people asking for help, after which she then booted me from the group and then de-friended me.

I can man up here and say I got ticked off, Hell I was Pissed… I posted a message on my personal Facebook wall. I did NOT mention her name or the Tobri group’s name anywhere in the message and as I said it was posted on my personal FB wall. All I did was make a statement that I felt was correct. Was I a bit harsh, or mean YES, was I saying what tons of others were thinking Yes, and I know this because of the messages of support I received after I started the new group.

At this point Shirley copied the message from my wall and posted it on the Tobri Members group wall. I know she thinks I was drunk because of what I posted on my personal page only because she told everyone I was drunk when I posted it, but I was stone cold sober. I was just Pissed!

The original group was created to the best of my knowledge by Ken to help marketers and make an Impact. Not to rub everyone’s tummy and make them all feel good. There is a time and place and when friends need to talk that is all great but that is what the group was becoming, nothing more than Lollipops and Rainbows and that is not marketing.

There are people there who need real help and were not getting it because she would delete their post if it wasn’t inline with her views on how her group should be run. Soooo, I started the new group later that night and I had 70+ people join on their own without me adding anyone within the first hour.

Once word got out that this new Tobri group really was a group for marketers by marketers, then people wanted in and the messages started coming in faster and faster. I know she also thinks I pulled people from her group but I did not. I just sent a message to a few people I thought would be interested and itself replicated that quick.

Now new people everyday are coming to the group on their own and through other friends of theirs recommendations. Shirley sent me some messages and we talked back and forth for a few minutes. All of which I will gladly post here if people are really that concerned. But I told her my full intention was to create a spin off group where people could market and post links and not be banned from the group or punished for asking for help.

Pictures of Birthday cakes are great but when people are in financial trouble they are looking for help not a picture of a cake. As I said above all these things are great but people need help and that was all this new group was ever meant to be. I was NOT trying to take down Shirley’s group I was only trying to create an extension of it. One for the birthdays and well wishes and the other for the marketers. She got extremely upset with me and felt I was in the wrong she didn’t want to hear any explanations and wanted me to delete the new group and leave her and her friends alone. Even thought I was friends with more than 80% of her FB friends.

I invited her to join us in the new group and offered her to be an Admin in the group, she refused and wanted nothing to do with it. From what I have been able to figure out she went though and deleted anyone who joined the new Tobri marketers group from her original Tobri group. As Vickie Sayce said to me (Well, it seems that Shirley thought that I was in cahoots with you. She unfriended me and kicked me out of my own dang group. How about that? )

After all of this transpired I have no idea what happened to Shirley, I have no ill will toward her and I would love to have her as a part of this group, but that is her choice. If I have to change the name from Tobri to something else I will if it would make her happy or if it would make Ken’s life easier. Look I am no angel and I’m not trying to look like one, I can be a Big Asshole at times and I know this and people who know me know this.

But one thing I can say is this group here was created to help the people in this group who are in the process of loosing their homes and those who need to help putting food on their table. That is the only reason, there is no other reason. I am here to help and the current admins are here to help. My intention was never to put Ken McArthur in a bad position here in the group, I hold the man with the highest regards. If her wants the name changed then so be it if he does not want to be an admin then fine. I still have the highest respect for him and everything I have learned from him.

But do not attack him when he had nothing to do with this, Any questions should be directed to me and me alone.

I know I haven’t been around the last few days but it is because my wife’s mother is dying of cervical cancer which has spread to her liver, lungs and pancreas. And we are trying to make her last days as comfortable as we can.

Once again Any questions should be directed to me and me alone.

I recently did a survey contacting 500 people that in the past have asked for info on starting a Local SEO Marketing Company, Like Clemens Media Group. I found that 50% of those that responded said the reason they haven’t started a business yet was that they had no money for the basic start up cost and felt unable to find any way to get themselves into this lucrative business.

Based on the results of the survey, I contacted the Small Business administration (SBA) and found that the SBA has a Micro Loan Program to start a business for under $15,000. If you are interested contact your local Intermediary Lender in your state.

You might be eligible for this Micro loan if you meet the following:

1) You have no felony convictions
2) Are a US Citizen or have a Green Card
3) No Federal Fund Defaults- Student Loan Judgement or Charge debts
4) Credit Score is not as important as your payment history
5) This is not a personal loan, it is a business loan
6) You must be able to come up with 10% of the total loan amount
7) You must have 3 Years of Tax Returns
If you are paying any child support – you must be current.

If you think you are eligible based on the criteria above you can contact the Intermediary Lender in your state

See the listing for each state here- Approval process can take approx one month.

What is Video Marketing?

There has been a great deal of discussion in the marketing world lately about video marketing. This form of marketing has become one of the least expensive ways for any business to advertise and in many cases it has been one of the most successful ways to increase name and brand recognition. So what is video marketing and how can in help any sized business to successfully market their products and services?

Video marketing is the result of both technological advances and the rise of social media and video sharing networks. Essentially, a business creates a short video based on their company and then uses a variety of social media outlets and network sharing websites to get as many online viewers to see it as possible. The point of making such a video may not be to necessarily advertise the business or the product, it could be about anything. Many companies have had a great deal of luck producing funny or heart-warming videos that do not directly represent the company. The point of video marketing is to create a form of video content that captures the attention of online viewers and gets them to share it with their friends.

Video marketing is an easy way for a business to inform potential customers about the company. These videos can be used to tell the company’s story, tell viewers about the company’s mission and core values, explain a bit about the people behind the company, display the company’s good deeds and charity contributions or to showcase the business’s product or service. If created with quality content and made to be engaging to online viewers, a short and simple video could end up receiving millions of online hits. This can vastly increase the business’s product awareness or brand recognition, a concept that can be directly translated into revenue.

Since producing videos is inexpensive, video marketing campaigns can produce a lot of results for a small investment. This makes it a very attractive advertising formula for many businesses.

The FACTS About Consumer Internet Usage

Today, most people turn to the Internet to locate LOCAL products and services. Long gone are the days when people pick up the Yellow Pages first to find what they what they need.

Think about it… when is the last time you picked up yours?

The Internet is the first place people look when they need to find… well, just about anything. It has truly become an integral part of our daily lives.

To give you an idea about how powerful Internet usage is amongst consumers, here are a few statistics:

Almost 250 million searches for products and businesses are performed per day on Google alone.

DM News reported that 35% of all Internet searches are local.

comScore reported that 90% of local commercial searches result in offline bricks and mortar purchases.

Online marketing is expected to be 15% of all media advertisement spending in 2013. It’s currently approximately 7.6%.

With billions of LOCAL searches being performed online each month, the Internet has officially surpassed the printed Yellow Pages book, newspapers, and other traditional marketing methods when it comes to overall effectiveness.

Online marketing has even gone beyond the computer… mobile phone Internet usage is also growing at astonishing rates, which we will discuss in more detail later in this report.

The global connection created by the Internet has changed the way the world communicates, gathers information, and markets its products and services.

While the technology is fascinating, this global connection has also created problems for some local business owners.

Why?

Local businesses are struggling to get new – and repeat – customers

Business expenses keep rising, while profits are quickly declining

Some local business owners are barely staying afloat – yet they are still not utilizing the power of the Internet marketing

Some local business owners prefer to spend thousands of dollars on traditional print advertising methods, which are becoming less effective

Local competitors are catching on the power of the Internet and leaving their counter-parts in the dust

Most consumers have traded in their Yellow Pages for a more comprehensive online search

Newspaper sales are down… Everywhere

DVR devices, such as TiVo, allow people to skip commercials

Would you agree that whenever you need information or need to find a product or service your first thought is to go online?

The Internet is a new age marketing “must have” for all businesses. If a business wants to continue to grow and get new customers, creating an online presence is no longer an option – it’s a necessity.
The Internet provides several powerful avenues to help businesses continue to get more leads, more customers, and more profits.

This is great news, but many businesses are being left in the wind when it comes to online marketing. Their competitors are implementing online strategies that allow them to dominate their local market.

If you are not establishing a strong online presence, your chance of connecting with local customers is greatly reduced. Without it, you’re just letting money slip right through your fingertips.

The purpose of this report is to help you learn more about the different online marketing avenues that will allow you to connect with local prospects consistently.

You will learn the different methods of online marketing that are available to you and why they’re effective. In addition, you will learn more about how online marketing works overall so that you can have a better understanding of how it can benefit your business.

There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to decide which online marketing strategies to use when you don’t even understand them.

Some business owners avoid Internet marketing simply because they don’t understand it. Others don’t use it because they don’t think it’s effective. Others avoid it because they’ve been burned before by their “web guy.” Others don’t think it’s worth the money.

However, none of these reasons are good enough to miss out on the opportunities that online marketing can bring to your business.

In order to really connect with your local prospects and customers, there are several online marketing techniques you can use to generate a constant stream of new business.

Connecting with your local customer-base in crucial today as overall consumer spending has taken a major decline over the past few years.

Therefore, business owners are scrambling for all of the business they can get.

What better way to get new customers than to go where they spend a majority of their time?

You may be thinking, “Well, I have a website, so I’m already ‘online.’”

A website is just one small step in the world of online marketing.

Yes, having a website is an important step every business should eventually take to get an online presence. But are you driving traffic to your website? If not, what good is a beautiful website if it’s lost in the dessert where no one can see it?

So in order to really connect with local consumers, there are several things you should consider…

Let’s explore Email Marketing in particular …

Once you start building a loyal list of prospects and customers, you can send emails to them from time to time and start building a relationship.

Email Marketing has been a while for a long time and is not expected to go away anytime soon.
Most local businesses are familiar email marketing, but have not considered using this method within their own businesses. This is a mistake because email marketing will dramatically reduce your marketing costs while bringing you more business at the same time.

Email marketing is one of the most powerful and cost-effective marketing tools that a business can use to connect with local customers and prospects.

By using an email Autoresponder system, you can stay in front of existing customers and prospects on complete auto-pilot.

This will create a constant stream of new customers as well as repeat customers.

Benefits of Email Marketing

Email Marketing allows you to easily build trust, credibility and relationships with your prospects and customers. You can:

Increases sales and profits

Costs less than most other advertising methods

Converts more prospects and website visitors into customers

Completely hand-off and automated

Easily deliver important messages to your prospects and customers

Easily track results

SPAM Compliant

Every business wants to connect with local consumers without spending a ton of money in advertising. Email Marketing will allow you to do just that.

With an email marketing campaign, you can truly stay connected with potential buyers 24/7.

Preparing for Your Email Marketing Campaign

To start building your Email Marketing campaign, you will need an autoresponder system.

This system will deliver your messages and allow you to manage and track your campaigns.

You will also want to make sure that every page on your website has an email opt-in form installed.

Opt-in forms are created within your autoresponder system and an HTML code is provided, which should be installed on your website.

In exchange for their email addresses, offer your visitors something of value. So start thinking about what you will offer. This could be a free information report related to your industry, a coupon, a discount, or whatever you see fit.

If your customers come into your business, you should also capture their email addresses there. Again, offer them something nice in exchange for their email addresses.

Let’s look at all of this a little bit closer…

Choosing and Setting Up Your Email Autoresponder System

In order to run an email marketing campaign, you will need an Autoresponder system, which is a web-based email marketing software that will deliver your email messages to your list.

Autoresponder systems are affordable and make the emailing process truly “hand-off” once you set everything up.

1. Choose an Autoresponder service company to use. These companies charge you a small monthly fee to hold your list of email addresses and messages.

Some of the most popular are Aweber.com, iContact.com, and Constantcontact.com.

2. Add contacts to your Autoresponder system. This can be done manually. However, if you have an opt-in form on your website, they will be automatically added.

3. Create some starter email messages and add them into your Autoresponder system so you can start following-up with your list. Continue to send them messages that contain valuable information. Never let your list run cold!

4. Generate an opt-in form to place on your website. Once your Autoresponder is setup, you will have the ability to generate an opt-in form to place on your website.

An opt-n form is a simple HTML code that is generated by your Autoresponder. When setting up your code, you will determine what information you want to capture.

Obviously, you will need their email address, but you can also ask for additional information such as their name, address, phone number, etc. However, the less you ask for, the more subscribers you will get.

Capturing Email Addresses on Your Website

It has been proven that giving away a free gift in exchange for email addresses works better than any other method.

Visitors are more apt to give you their email address if they get something in return. However, whatever you decide to give them must be valuable and something they would benefit from. Make sure it’s enticing enough to make them leave their email address to get it.

As mentioned earlier, your Autoresponder opt-in box on your site will be responsible for collecting email addresses, but you must have a way to entice your visitors.

You can offer things such as:

Discounts and Coupons: Most businesses sell products and services that benefit from the use of coupons. Everyone wants to save money these days so offering a discount or coupon could prove to be very powerful for building a list.

Free Ebooks/Reports: A lot of people are online searching for solutions to a problem or need that they have. Free reports are the perfect way to give them the information that will solve their problem or fulfill their need.

Free Video Guides: Video is quickly becoming one of the most powerful marketing methods online today. Many people would rather watch a video than read an e-book, so you should definitely cater to this market.

Free “How-To” Tutorials: Tutorials are an excellent way to build an email list. This is because a tutorial provides a LOT of value to subscribers who are looking for a solution to a problem.

Emailing Your List

Once you start building your list, it’s time to connect, educate and “soft-sell” to them by providing them with valuable information…

This could be things such as newsletters on topics of interest, “how-to” tutorials, etc.

Coupons and promotions should be worked in – do not bombard your list with hard-selling methods. It is not effective.

The most important aspect of email marketing is “relationship-building.”

Use email to get familiar with your list and to allow them to get to know you.

People buy from those they know, like, and trust – this is a known fact. So establishing a relationship is one of the most profitable things you can do to get a strong connection with local consumers.

Whatever you do, just be sure to provide your list with valuable information and don’t bombard them with promotional offers.

Also be somewhat conservative about how often you send emails – there is a such thing as “too many emails” when it comes to email marketing.

Don’t hit your subscribers with constant emails because this will reduce the perceived value of being a part of your list. Once the value is gone, people will quickly opt-out.

Instead, only send out emails periodically and this could vary depending on the nature of your business.

However, in most cases, just sending one email per week – or even two emails per month is more than enough to build a strong connection with your list.

How to Build your list using Giveaway Events

List building should be the number one priority for anybody who is serious about making money on the internet. But just how do you begin to build your list? There are countless ways, but a great place to start is with a “give away event”.

A “give away” is inexpensive (or even free) to do. When you’re starting out it’s probably better to choose the free route, so your only real expense will be an auto-responder. Please try to use a professional “paid for” service and avoid the free ones if you possibly can. Another bonus if your funds are limited is that it’s quite possible to use this method without a website, although it is better if you have one.

A give away event consists of marketers (referred to as contributors) who get together and provide products known as “gifts” for people to download free. These gifts are usually such things as e-books and reports, though software and video is quite common.

People love to get something free, and to download the product a person will have to enter an email address. This is how we build the list.

Do not worry if you have nothing to give away, a little time spent researching on the internet and you’ll have loads of information that you can re-write and make into an e-book or report. Another way is to get some private label rights articles and re-write them to produce your gift. (If you do use private label rights material make sure that you check the license to make certain you have the right to alter it, claim ownership, and give it away. If you are in any doubt then ask the person who sold it to you).

Once you have produced your gift it’s a good idea to get a graphic for it so that it stands out. It doesn’t have to be a work of art! Perfectly acceptable graphics can be had cheaply or even free.

Take a good look at your new product and make sure that it’s good quality and provides useful information. Ask yourself: “Would I be happy to receive this?” Just because you are giving it away does not mean it can be rubbish.

Give away events are held regularly on the internet and a search will undoubtedly produce several that you’ll be able to enter. These events are easy to do and can quickly kick-start your list building.

{EAV_BLOG_VER:19e5ecdd820456cf}
At the end of the day only a few business to business marketers get any respect. The daily ops get your items shipped. Sales bring in new clients, and the Marketing Dept, Umm well, to be honest marketing generally spends it time reminding all the other departments what marketing does for the company, but they shouldn’t have to should they?

B2B marketers can move closer to the money by reconnecting with their sales force. Some of the best B2B marketers are the ones who have invested time to understand what sales needs from marketing and aligned their efforts with the revenue-generating troops on the front line.

It helps to start by understanding what a sales person’s job is all about (spend a day with one of your company’s top reps). Most sales professionals are motivated by two basic concepts: numbers and relationships. If marketers can help their colleagues in sales a) build and strengthen relationships, and b) meet their sales targets, they’ll be on the road to reconnecting with the sales force and moving marketing closer to the money.

Here are four ideas B2B marketers can put to work to reconnect with the sales force, and move marketing closer to their company’s revenue stream.

Ask the sales force for their definition of a qualified lead

Until you sit across the desk from a prospect and have to close a sale to pay the bills, it’s hard to understand the life of a sales professional. The sales force has countless conversations and interactions with customers and prospects. Through this process, successful sales people develop a good understanding of what an ideal customer looks like.

To help the sales force identify new opportunities with lead generation campaigns, make sure the leads you generate look a lot like the ideal customer profile. That’s why successful lead generation starts with a definition of a qualified lead that both marketing and sales agree on.

Ask your top sales reps this question: “What do you need to know to have a good conversation with a customer?” Get them thinking about successful sales calls and what made those calls productive. Then take this feedback and translate it into a series of questions to ask in your lead generation campaigns. Run the questions by the sales reps to ensure their buy-in.

Documenting your qualified lead definition creates the “service contract” between sales and marketing. The qualified lead definition should be reviewed periodically and updated as needed.

Understand why clients buy your services or products

Everyone moves through a series of steps in considering a purchase. These steps may take place in minutes, or they may occur over several months. Understanding the steps prospects go through when considering your company’s products or services will help you better understand the true “buy cycle.” It’s important to note the buy cycle and the selling process are two different things. The sales process may be “initial contact, followed by a first meeting and proposal and then the close.”

But your potential customer is thinking, “Who are you? and what can you do for me?”

Truly understanding the buy cycle for your products requires a little homework. That could be a primary research study, but it can also be as simple as marketers talking directly with customers. Engage the sales force in helping you from the start, even arranging customer conversations and visits. Explain what your objective is and how it can ultimately help them. The input and experience provides excellent first-hand customer insight.

Show the company you matter by becoming a trusted advisor

People buy from people they trust. One of the best ways for a company to become a trusted advisor is to transform the wealth of internal knowledge into relevant content that helps solve your customers’ problems. Understanding the steps of the buy cycle, make it easier to develop tools that become part of the customer’s solution. Develop presentations and training to help your sales force become familiar with the tools available on your company’s Website, printed materials and other content.

Take the time to explain the thinking and strategy behind your marketing materials. When it comes to content, general information helps establish awareness and a core comfort level early in the buying process. More detailed and sophisticated knowledge helps the customer as they move forward in their purchasing decision.

Accept the fact that sales lead follow no longer works, bottom line!

The average cost of a sales call is more than $300; it takes roughly five calls to close a new deal and most customers see no more than two sales reps per week. Do the math – it truly is a waste of time for the sales force to follow up on leads. Successful lead generation programs shift responsibility for the follow-up process from the sales force to the marketing department. Using internal or external resources, marketers are able to follow up more efficiently and stay in touch until the time is right to turn the opportunity over to the sales force.

Imagine the look on the sales rep’s face when you tell them you know following up on sales leads is a waste of their time. Then think about the response you’ll get when you deliver a well qualified, sales-ready opportunity that can help them hit their sales goals. By rolling up our sleeves and helping sales solve this age-old challenge, not only will we dramatically improve the relationship between marketing and sales – we will deliver measurable results that will help drive sales growth.
